Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento

Ashton Blaise Whitty was born on the 1st October 1995, in Berkeley, California, USA. She is an actor, famous by her roles in Choices (2010), The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2006) as well as Chrissie Mayr's Content House (2022).

Asia Argento is an Italian actress and film-maker born into an extended family. She has worked in both fields. When she made her debut, she was only nine years aged in Sergio Citti's film Sogni e bisogni. In 1988, she starred as the main character in Cristina Comencini's debut film, Zoo, and was part of the cast of The Church directed by Michele Soavi. Red Wood Pigeon was the next year, and Asia as Nanni's daughter. Close Friends was written by Michele Placido and was directed by her. The film was the point at which Asia's career started to grow as she transitioned from roles for young girls to complex and mature roles. Cannes International Film Festival received the film well. In Trauma she appeared for the first time with her father, the renowned Italian filmmaker of horror Dario Argento his mother, one of the most beloved actresses by Argento, Daria Nicolodi, playing an overweight girl on the lookout of her parents' murderer. Asia was in Dario's Phantom of the Opera, the third film she directed together with her father. Two of them included Trauma and The Stendhal Syndrome. In 1993, she costarred in Carlo Verdone's Perdiamoci di vista where she performed the role of Arianna who was a physical challenged woman. This role was complex and challenging, earning an award from David di Donatello as best actor. In 1995, her work with Michel Piccoli for Peter Del Monte's Compagna di viaggio won her the David di Donatello award, in addition to the Grolla of Oro. In 1994 Asia began the art of directing, and produced two short films as part of the series of the movie De Generazione In 1996 she directed a documentary on her father and, in 1998, another film on the legendary director Abel Ferrara, AbelAsia which received an award from The Rome Film Festival. Asia debuted as a director in 1999, with Scarlet Diva. The film was also the lead screenwriter and actress. The film was released in May 2000 both in Italy and all over the world. It won the Brooklyn's special prize at the Williamsburg festival of film.
