Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born on 25th August 1949) is an American television chef and host. She was also an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. She is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef at the Food Network. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond wigs and a pumped-up persona, shows how to prepare restaurant-style meals at home, using easy methods. Chef Burrell is also a part of some of New York's top restaurants, has been studying Italian cuisine and its traditions, and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster, growing up in the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America sparked her interest in the management of restaurants after she graduated with an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable opportunity for me. I couldn't be more educated or accomplished in my studies. After graduation, Burrell spent one year studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. In Italy Burrell developed a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This is a huge influence on the way she prepares her food. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to improve the lives of children who face difficulties. She is also a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador where she advocates for awareness of juvenile diabetes. As a speaker, she travels across the nation to talk about her love of food and her culinary career. Anne said she felt lucky in that she could communicate her love of cooking to the people around her.
